New Year’s Eve Party Rocks to Hip Hop Beat

LimeStone Events  helped Brampton, ON ring in 2014 with their Glamorous New Year’s Eve party at Dreams Convention Centre. The night featured a dinner and dance with DJ Kamran and DJ KSR, raffle prizes, and performances from Imran Khan, Mickey Singh, and Broken Dance Performing Arts.

GlamorousLimeStone Events is an event planning service that offers full range of needs for special events. They offer everything from venue booking and decorations to media services and DJs. The business launched in 2013 and this party served to introduce people to the company and “present entertainment and a unique event” for those looking to celebrate the New Year.

Broken Dance placed as finalists in the first season of Canada’s Got Talent in 2012. The group formed in 2010, and the 12 member dance company wanted to “start something new and exciting in South Asian entertainment for Canadians.” Their main focus is on Bollywood, Classical Indian, and Hip Hop styles, but they also perform Bhangra, Latin, Dancehall Reggae, Flamenco, and Break-dancing. Their high energy performance was hailed as a highlight of the night by party organizer Nitasha Jyoti.

Mickey Singh was born and raised in India and began singing at three years old. After relocating to the United States at 14, he began melding the South Asian sounds he grew up with and the musical styles of his new home. Singh “creatively laces the best of east and west in a way that audiences everywhere can relate to.”

Glamorous2Pakistani-Dutch rapper Imran Khan realized music was more than just a hobby by the time he was in his early teens. In 2006, after two failed attempts at recording songs that fit the sound he was hoping for, Khan recorded the demo single “Ni Nachleh (Hey, Dance).” When it was released in 2007, the song quickly topped several world music charts. His rhythm and blues, dancehall, hip hop, house, and pop music influenced sound continues to win him raves and accolades.

Jyoti promoted the show with printed collateral, a radio ad, word of mouth, Facebook advertising, social networking, and a shout out from their performers on YouTube. She adds that using every planning experience to learn is a crucial part of the process. “Planning is all about showing your expertise and learning more and more with every event,” Jyoti explains. “It’s very important to learn to spend money effectively and stay organized. Last minute organization never works.”
